TOOLS & MATERIALS

Hook size 2.5 mm · Scissors and needle · 8/4 cotton yarn (weight/length: 50 g = approx 160 m) · Ribbon

This pattern can cover any jar. You just need to continue to increases, until your circle can cover the top of your jar lid. The following pattern is for a jar with a 7.50 cm diameter lid. 

JAM JAR COVERS

1.rd: Start with 6 sc in magic ring (6) 

2.rd: 1 inc x 6 (12) 

3.rd: 1 sc, 1 inc x 6 (18) 

4.rd: 2 sc, 1 inc x 6 (24) 

5.rd: 3 sc, 1 inc x 6 (30) 

6.rd: 4 sc, 1 inc x 6 (36) 

7.rd: 5 sc, 1 inc x 6 (42) 

8.rd: 6 sc, 1 inc x 6 (48) 

9.rd: 7 sc, 1 inc x 6 (54) 

10.rd: 8 sc, 1 inc x 6 (60)

11.-13.rd: 1 sc in each stitch (60)

14.rd: 1 sc, chain 2 and skip 1 stitch x 30 (90)

15.rd: 1 sc, 1 sc in the chain space x 30 (60) 

16.rd: 1 hdc in each stitch (60) - working in the front loop!

Cut the yarn and fasten off. Pull your ribbon through the holes made when you skipped a stitch in round 14. Tie it tight and add a label/tag if you wish.
